So, to change things up in 2012, I'll be writing boring updates, humorous yet boring, updates on my somewhat private weigh loss journey.

    hey all-

    I wanted to let you know that tomorrow at 9am on CNN, the diet I’ve been on http://www.susanshealthygourmet.com/ will be featured during a segment titled ”recovering economy”. make sure you check it out….no, i wont be in the segment, I know, sad, crying…but watch it!

    I owe you guys a weight loss update, I’ll make a video tomorrow, I know I promised last week but this new job training schedule is sucking all my free time…but it’s progress….also, anyone wanna run the long beach half marathon with me??

  • I look forward to Monday morning now. Weird, I know. Monday, bright and early is when Susan’s Healthy Gourmet delivers my meals, then they do another delivery Thursday mornings as well. It’s kinda like opening Christmas gifts because the meals are always different and I hope for the elusive tiny desserts in the meals as I put them away in the fridge.  So, today marks week two of healthy living and eating…weight loss for last week was 2.5 pounds which totals 6.5 in TWO weeks!!! I never thought cutting out junk food and eating right and working out would show instant results.  I also cut my mile run time down to 15 minutes. It’s like a brisk run/walk…I’m getting there. I’ll make it…  I’ll post some pictures of my body progress this week. I can feel inches off in my waist for sure. Also, I am starting a new job with the Department of Homeland Security, and that guarantees lots of physical work so hopefully that will help with the loss.  In other news…I’m going for the Giants in the Super Bowl.  -AJ

  • I always try to keep this updated as much as I can but the last few days have been pretty busy. I mean, I haven’t been THAT busy…you know, football playoffs and a travel expo over the weekend I went to. I think i’m going to take a trip to Holland with the lady friend in April and tiptoe thorough the tulips. So not like me, I know. I did get some really great information however, at the expo…oh there are trains that go all over Europe hopefully I can visit other countries as well.
So on to the more interesting and relevant topic, my diet. Tomorrow will be 7 days of eating Susan’s Healthy Gourmet, breakfast, lunch and dinner…oh and one snack usually of fruit or crackers and cheese. Along with working out at least 5 days a week for an hour. I also, as I said before have been pounding down water like a fish. I put on a shirt today that was tight at one time around my upper arms, that NOW feels loose! I know it’s only been a week but I’ve cut my caloric intake in half each day, I’ll weigh myself tomorrow for sure to know.
Eating preset meals I am limited to what I can eat. It seems like Monday-Thursday they have me eating a lot of chicken and fish and salads. I was so so so excited to find an Andes candy in my salad the other day. The fat kid inside me was dying to eat it. I really haven’t eaten anything candy wise, only what they’re sending me. Friday-Sunday the meals were a little more carb packed, turkey lasagna and pot roast…today I got chicken tortilla soup with a chocolate cupcake on the side…hollllllllllllerrrrrrrr!

  • So today was rough as far as wanting something sweet to eat…I never realized how much I thought about food during the day & now that I can’t eat whatever I want, it’s intensified by a thousand!!! I swear I can smell the See’s candy shop 3 miles away, it’s like that. Anyway, I came home tonight and to my surprise dinner had a big, fat, chocolate chip cookie in it! Thank you Susan’s Healthy Gourmet, you saved my day for sure. Also! Dinner was chilaquiles…freakin cheeeelay-keeelaaaayyssss….mexican delishness!  I did a 90 minute Bikram yoga class today. It was fun, like torturous fun. I like the instructor, he’s awesome. The room smells like Fritos and broccoli.  I’m drinking so much water I feel like a fish. Seriously, I should go to CostCo & invest in a pallet of toilet paper, this water thing is no joke.  I’ll weigh myself next Monday, a week after I started this diet to see my progress.  This diet craziness has inspired me to write some jokes for some standup I’ll be doing soon (hopefully). Speaking of standup and some what related, have you guys watched The Rosie show?? I’m not quite sold on it. She’s not funny. Her guests tonight are Jackeè Harry and Stxy. Who? Exactly. Unless you were born in 1978 or earlier you probably have no idea who these guests are.  Peace out girl scout!

  • so today I did my workout with my trainer at “the bluff” as we call it here in Long Beach. Basically it’s just a bunch of stairs that lead down to the beach. When I say stairs it’s about 30 stairs down and 30 up, times 7 equals, well, i’d add it up but my calculator is on my phone which is in the other room…240? yeah 240 stairs and it’s a mile walk to complete all of them. So I did it. Go me. That’s my rad self, all bundled up to work out, yes, Virginia, it get’s semi-cold in California. While I was quasi running up and down stairs today, this random other stair runner guy gave me a high-five. Ok. that’s weird. He was either like “good job hefty girl” or he was just overly happy. Either way, I think it’s just weird to high-five a random stranger. Unless you’re Oprah, you can’t do that.

    Anyway… I was pretty much starving by the end of my workout so I was happy to find that for lunch were these rad chicken wraps from Susan’s Healthy Gourmet. I wont lie I really wanted a volcano taco from Taco Bell, but that’s how I ended up on a diet in the first place! 

    So diet day 2 is in the books. I wont lie I’d love to eat some ice cream right now and maybe a burger, I’d even settle for a veggie burger, but I need to do this.

    In other news, I still haven’t heard back from that reality TV show I tried out with my friend Jess last week. Maybe it’s too soon to know? Some of you were asking what the show was called it’s called “Escape Routes” it’s sponsored by Ford. Google it.

    I’m going to bed so I can wake up and eat breakfast - It’s like that ok?
